Acne appears on the skin due to factors such as excessive oil production, accumulation of dead skin cells, and irritants on the skin which blocks the pores and results in breakouts. Treatment of acne on appearance prevents it from worsening and reduce the incidence of dark spots. Acne medications can be gotten over the counter or from medical personnel.
3. Eating healthy
Good black skin care starts with you eating healthy. Our diets play a role in the appearance of our skin so, it is fair to say that we are what we eat. Foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids keep the skin hydrated, thick, and agile. Other foods that can be incorporated into your meal are avocados, walnuts, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, bell pepper, soybeans, green tea, and eggs to name a few.
4. Take lots of water
You might have overlooked this but, taking lots of water is beneficial to your skin. Lack of water in the skin can make it look dry and loose and even cause it to age easily. Taking lots of water on the other hand reduces the wrinkling of the skin, improves complexion, clears breakouts, and reduces the size of pores. Your water intake is quite important because the body loses water daily through urine and sweat and taking more water helps to create balance in the skin.
The quantity of water to be taken daily is not agreed upon but some would recommend that you take about two liters a day or more. While that cannot be said to be the benchmark, you should take water daily in sips and should not wait to feel thirsty before taking it.

The presence of melanin in large quantities in your skin does give it an advantage in the sun but, it doesn’t mean that you should leave off the use of actual sunscreen when going out during the day.
